Does my motherboard need a video output?

I'm building my own computer and my motherboard doesn't have a VGA type output, (no video output what so ever), but my video card does, will everything still work if I hook up my video card to my motherboard and my video card to my monitor? Would I still be able to see the bios menu to install my OS?|||that's exactly what you have to do. without graphics you won't see anything.|||Yes it should work.
