How do I recover information on a desk top cpu now that my video output does not work?

I could add a seperate video card, but need to upgrade power supply too. So instead Im buying a new cpu. Now the question is how to recover what is on the old hard drive...docs., photos, video and more. Can I connect the old cpu to my new one and drag everything over? What is the best way to accomplish this task?|||simply u can connect ur old hard drive with another computer and copy all the important things or make it on dvds|||If you are using the same motherboard (hence, the same socket), you do not need to format the hard disk, you can just take the data away.

What you can also do is hook up your hard drive to another pc, with that manner, the PC will not boot from your old hard drive, instead on his normal hard drive. Then u find the data, just transfer it to the other hard drive.

In a nutshell, connect old Hard drive to another pc, take the data out from it.|||You should be able to put your old hard drive on the new computer. Most of the time there is space and if not you can make space temporarily by unplugging a cd rom or something and plugging the old hard drive in place of that. And there is normally a button it lets you hit so you can boot from whichever device. :p

usually F2 or F6 :p
